T&B roots date back to the early 1800's when the recipes we currently use were created and handed down through teaching our younger generations. Giovanni & Anna Rizzi were born in Mola DiBari Italy in the 1930's then migrated to the United States, they brought those same old world Italian recipes with them.
In 1980 Giovanni & Anna's son Peter Opened his first restaurant in Brooklyn New York using the Rizzi family's old world recipes. The restaurant was so highly successful that Pete was able to launch ten additional restaurants in a short time. In early 2000's after a very successful career and being thought of by his peers as a highly respected restaurateur, Pete decided to sell many restaurants and spend time with his wife of 23 years, Kim and his 3 children PJ, Skyla, and Taylor. Pete quickly realized that his sister Antoinette always loved to cook and then showed her where to start.
Now Antoinette, who was following her dreams of having her own restaurant or cooking show, took it upon herself to extend the Rizzi family's old world recipes to New Jersey. She then opened Tomato & Basil Pizzeria Restaurant with her husband, Thomas Broglia and 2 Children Bianca & Jenna.
Antoinette and her family are all ready to share great food and great times with their family and friends here in Morganville, New Jersey.
